Troop 461'sGeneral Nash District EagleEagle Scout Medal

Eagle Scouts

The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest award that a member of the Boy Scouts of America can earn.   In addition to the 21 merit badges required for the Eagle Scout Award, Eagle Scout Candidates must also plan, coordinate and complete an approved service project, have significant experience in leadership positions in their units and have letters of recommendation from parents, teachers, religious leaders and the like.  Once the formal requirements are completed, the Eagle Candidate must then pass a Board of Review at both the troop and district level.  While the Boards of Review may be held after a Scout's 18th birthday, all of the requirements, including the completion of the Eagle Scout service project, must be completed prior to the Scout's 18th birthday.  Since 1957, 71 members of Souderton Troop 461 have earned their Eagle Scout Award - most of which were under the leadership of our late Scoutmaster, Harold L. Frederick, Jr.
