Haliburton 2004

20 Scouts and 11 Adult leaders participated in Troop 461's triennial Canadian summer camp at Haliburton Scout Reserve, Ontario, Canada, from July 9th through July 21, 2004.  The adult leaders in attendance were Scoutmaster Harold Frederick, Assistant Scoutmasters Andy Cowles, Dave Hange, Ken Hutchison, Tom Isban, Mike Landis, Erik Shurtz and Tim Wile, as well as Committee members Richard Detwiler and Steven Radcliff.  The troop was assigned the same campsite that it had in 2001.  While the first few days of the encampment saw fine weather, the rains came on Tuesday and remained for the remainder of the troop's stay, including some especially impressive thunderstorms and downpours.  The rain did not hamper the Scouts' waterfront activities as the majority of the requirements for Rowing and Canoeing Merit Badges were accomplished on Lake Kenabe during the rain.  The trip home included a night in recently-flooded Peterborough, a trip to Niagara Falls and a final night of camping at Dittmer Scout Reservation in New York.

2007 - Haliburton Scout Reserve, Ontario, Canada

Troop 461 enjoyed yet another one of its triennial Canadian summer camps at Haliburton Scout Reserve from 6 to 16 July 2007.  Again, the Scouts discovered that the rumours about the Haliburton mosquitoes being as large as crows were just that - rumours - and despite some rainy weather, the Scouts enjoyed ten days of wilderness style camping along Lake Kenabe.  Adult leaders attending the 2007 Haliburton camp include Scoutmaster Harold Frederick, Jr., Assistant Scoutmasters Andrew Cowles, Scott Forwood, Ernest Gambone, and Kenneth Hutchison as well at Troop Committee Members Richard Detwiler and Erik Shurtz.
