In 1960, Troop 461 spent its first of many summer camps at Resica Falls Scout Reservation in the Poconos.  The growth of the troop can easily be seen by comparing the number of Troop 461 members attending the Resica Falls summer camp with those attending the 1956 summer camp at Camp Delmont.

In 1962, Troop 461 spent its first of may summer camps at Haliburton Scout Reserve in Ontario, Canada.  The troop choose Haliburton as the site for its 1962 Canadian summer camp since the site of its 1959 Canadian camp, Elbow Lake, was no longer available and had since turned into a housing development!  The troop has been holding its annual summer camp at Haliburton approximately every three or four years since 1962!  Some of the adult leaders attending the 1962 Haliburton camp are Scoutmaster Harold L. Frederick, Jr., Assistant Scoutmaster Wayne Wildonger, and Assistant Scoutmaster Herman Freese.

Troop 461 spent its 1964 summer camp at Great Bend Camp in Resica Falls Scout Reservation, Valley Forge Council.   As you can see, 34 members of Troop 461 were joined by six Canadian Sea Scouts from Bridgenorth, Ontario, Canada.  The leaders standing in the back are Harold L. Frederick, Jr., Scoutmaster; John Hildebrandt, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Merrill Myers, Assistant Scoutmaster.  Six of the Troop 461 scouts in attendance at the 1964 Resica Falls summer camp would reach the rank of Eagle, can you pick them out?

In 1965, Troop 461 once again headed off to Haliburton Scout Reserve in Ontario Canada.  Our group was so large that we chartered a bus from Hagey's Bus Service, of Franconia, PA, to take us up and back to Canada.  The leaders accompanying the troop to Canada were, left to right, Herman Freese, Assistant Scoutmaster; Harold L. Frederick, Jr., Scoutmaster, and, second from the far right, John Hildebrandt, Assistant Scoutmaster.

In 1966 Troop 461 once again spent its summer camp at Camp Delmont, in Green Lane, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  This was the troop's first summer camp at Delmont since 1958.  Adult leaders in attendance were Scoutmaster Harold L. Frederick, Jr. (far left), Assistant Scoutmaster Russell Ziegler (second from right, back row), and Assistant Scoutmaster John Hildebrandt (far right, back row).  Also in attendance at the troop's 1966 Delmont summer camp were three Canadian Boy Scouts from the Greater Toronto Region (in dark uniforms in center of second last row).

In 1968, Troop 461 and its affiliated Explorer Post 2461 were once again back at Resica Falls.  In keeping with the troop's international flavor, joining the troop and post for summer camp was a scout from Denmark, standing on the top row, second from the right.  The adult leaders accompanying the troop and post to summer camp in 1968 were, far left, Kenneth Peck, Explorer Post Advisor; middle row, second from right, Russell Ziegler, Assistant Scoutmaster, and middle row, far right, John Hildebrandt, Assistant Scoutmaster.   Scoutmaster Harold L. Frederick, Jr., missed the camp photograph as he was leading a group of scouts to Denmark that summer.
