Serving the youth of the Souderton Area School District for more than 50 years!!

Troop 461 is sponsored by Zion Mennonite Church, located on Cherry Lane in Souderton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.  Troop 461 meets in the Fellowship Hall of the Zion Mennonite Church on Monday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Troop 461 is part of the General Nash District and the Cradle of Liberty Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Troop 461 draws its members primarily from the Souderton Area School District, but is a truly "international" troop with members and leaders scattered throughout the world.

Since its reorganisation in 1956, Troop 461 has enjoyed scouting on a world-wide basis.  Since that time, the troop has hosted scouts from a variety of countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland and Sweden.  Every three years, Troop 461 holds its summer camp at Haliburton Scout Reserve of the Greater Toronto Region (GTR) of Scouts Canada, in Ontario, Canada.  This has been a Troop 461 tradition since 1962.  In addition to the tri-annual Canadian summer camp, Troop 461's members have travelled to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Holland, Iceland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland.  Worldwide scouting has been a hallmark of Troop 461.

Troop 461's international activities, other than the tri-annual summer camp at Haliburton, have included:

• 1966 - Patrol group to England, Scotland and Iceland.
• 1968 - Troop-sized group to Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
• 1970 - Patrol group to Austria, Germany, Holland & Switzerland.
• 1973 - Patrol group to Norway.
• 1975 - Patrol group to England and Central Europe.
• 1977 - Troop-sized group to England.
• 1979 - Patrol group to Holland and Switzerland.
• 1982 - Patrol group to Finland.
• 1988 - Patrol group to Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
• 1990 - Adult group to Finland.
• 2000 - Patrol group to Austria (Vienna 2000)
• 2003 - Patrol group to Austria & Switzerland
• 2009 - Patrol group to Great Britain (possible)
